Annual General Meeting Holcim Ltd
The 1,253 shareholders attending voted in favor of all motions by a large majority. The proposed payment of a cash dividend of CHF 1.50 per registered share and the advisory vote on the remuneration report were among the main motions approved.

Holcim continues to grow - higher net sales and better operating results
- The Group sold more cement, aggregates and ready-mix concrete, achieved higher net sales and better operating margins
- March saw significant progress in terms of volumes and operating results
- Emerging markets, particularly in Asia, remained on track for growth; however, heavy snowfall and a weak economy curbed construction activity in Europe and North America
- The consolidated result was supported by a strong presence in the emerging markets, the expansion in Australia and rigorous cost-cutting
- The non-recurring cash-neutral tax charge in connection with the restructuring of the Group's interests in North America reduced net income
Holcim als Lieferant für erste Kreisverkehre aus Beton in Baden-Württemberg
Beton setzt sich mehr und mehr gegen Asphalt durch
Dotternhausen, März 2010. In den letzten Jahren wird immer häufiger in Deutschland bei den Bauexperten diskutiert, ob sich Beton oder Asphalt besser für Fahrbahnen und Kreisverkehre eignet. Bisherige Erfahrungen sowie Untersuchungen lassen den Schluss zu, dass die innovative Betonbauweise eine wirtschaftliche Lösung mit einem guten Langzeitverhalten ist. Dies gilt sowohl für den Neubau als auch bei der Instandsetzung bestehender Verkehrsknoten. Die Holcim Kies und Beton GmbH hatte Ende 2009 die Möglichkeit, für beide Varianten den Beton zu liefern und ihr Know-how einzubringen - für einen Kreisverkehr-Neubau in Herrenberg sowie für die Sanierung eines Kreisels bei Grenzach-Wyhlen.

Holcim supports ICRC field activities
The president of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Jakob Kellenberger, and the CEO of Holcim Ltd, Markus Akermann, today signed a long-term agreement during the World Economic Forum meetings in Davos, Switzerland. As a new member of the ICRC Corporate Support Group, Holcim will fund humanitarian projects as part of its commitment to sustainable development.
